I’m Mikael. Born 1978. I’ve been working as a photographer since 1998. I live in Stockholm, Sweden. I’m married to Eva-Lisa and we have 2 beautiful sons-Cesar and Dante.
Starting high school I had plans of becoming a reporter. That changed the day I took up photography in school. It was an instant love affair and it’s what I’ve been doing since. I borrowed every book the local library had on photography and very soon I knew more about the technical side of photography then my teacher (he didn’t know all that much). The year after I graduated, I worked as a substitute teacher in photography at my high school.
I did my military service as a photographer at Värnpliktsnytt, a magazine for conscripts in Sweden. Photographing for Värnpliktsnytt led to my first job at Sweden’s biggest newspaper, Aftonbladet, and the rest is history.
I work as a freelance photographer with a wide range of clients. I shoot pretty much anything, though I truly suck at photographing food.
This blog is a diary of sorts. You will find my work here, my daily life, behind the scenes footage and hopefully some insight into what it means to work as a photographer. I’m also a sucker for lo-fi photography so you can expect to find some iphone pics in here.
This blog is not my portfolio. To view my portfolio, go here!
Update 111018: Since I’ve been featured in the spotlight section of Tumblr I am getting loads of followers every day. There is no way that I have the time to look at them all. I follow around 150 people on Tumblr. Nearly all with original content only. 150 is quite enough for me.
